About Joe Bennett

Joe Bennett is the Fire Program Director at Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City Campus. Joe has instructed on topics from multiple Fire/EMS disciplines during his tenure with Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City, as an instructor for the Eastern Oklahoma County Fire/EMS Training Center, and as an Oklahoma State Fire School instructor. Joe developed and implemented the transition from the traditional classroom setting to the hybrid online delivery platform currently being used by the Eastern Oklahoma County Training Center. Redesigned the Fire Protection degree program at OSU-Oklahoma City which increased enrollment in the program by 65% during his first year as the program director. Frequently engages the community through public speaking events at universities, schools, and workplaces, which also includes television and print interviews to promote the OSU-OKC program and public safety within the community. In addition, Joe created Camp Inferno, a non-profit organization that focuses on recruiting women and other under represented populations into the career fields of emergency dispatching, firefighting, medical, and law enforcement. Joe has also been awarded the Presidential commendation for volunteer service to his community for the last six years.
