My career in ophthalmic surgical technology began in the United States Air Force as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant. I joined the North Shore-LIJ Health System in November 1987 as a Certified Ophthalmic Surgical Technician for the Department of Ophthalmology and retired as the Ophthalmic Technical Manager in March of 2012.In my combined years of clinical and surgical ophthalmology I have developed a diverse skill set which encompasses a broad range of technical, managerial and leadership competencies . Striving to achieve the highest quality of patient care, managing resources, creating efficiencies and optimizing procedural standards have been the hallmark of my professional career.Core competencies and specialties: Refractometry, Ultrasound, Imaging, Photography,Visual FieldsI am currently certified as a C.O.T. by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology and a Regular Member in good standing in the Association of Technical Personnel in Ophthalmology. I received my Associates Degree in Allied Health from the Los Angeles City College, Philippine Branch, while stationed at Clark Air Force Base in the United States Air Force.
