At Ingevity I work as a Process Engineer. I am participating in 8-month rotations at different manufacturing locations throughout the company. The goal of this program is to get a wide variety of hands-on experience to fast-track me to management level positions in the company.I have learned a lot so far about project management skills and effective communication. I have focused my improvement on results-oriented action. With each of my projects, my goal is to find the root cause of the problem and involve the right people to get to the right solution. I move my projects forward as aggressively as possible.In this program, I am getting a vast amount of experience to improve my problem solving skills and project management skills. I plan to continue learning as much as I can at each new location and each new project that I work on.

At Digital Insurance I worked as a part of the Commissions Team. Everyone on the team works together to make sure that other departments have easily accessible financial information.My journey at Digital has been one of continuous learning. While I keep up with my day-to-day work, I also search for new ways to work more effectively. I have made it clear to others that I am excited to be involved in new projects. Along the way I have become proficient with Excel and CRM financial database.

At MeadWestvaco I worked with activated carbon to manufacture filters for the automotive industry as well as several other niche applications. I was introduced to each part of the process and asked by my manager to seek out problems and design solutions to improve the process.I developed several solo projects to improve the quality of raw materials and adjust quality specifications. However team projects were what I enjoyed most. I worked to collect data on an automated visual inspection machine, and I used this data to present action plans to the engineer in charge of that project. I also assembled and lead a team of engineers and operators to run an extensive set of experiments to improve quality consistency.I gained experience with presenting my ideas to both technical and non-technical peers. Being able to lead was the most valuable part of the internship for me. Plus, getting hands on experience with process engineering confirmed my passion for the field.
