Oversaw the surface and aviation operations of the ship, the operation of the nuclear power plant and the maintenance of the 100,000 ton capital warship. Led this complex organization through an entire operational cycle to include a seven month deployment to the Arabian Sea and Arabian Gulf. During two years of almost continuous operations careful stewardship led to an energy savings of 14 percent. Recognized in 2009 and 2010 as the Atlantic Fleet’s best aircraft carrier. During final months of tour expertly managed a $290 million dry-docked maintenance and modernization package by developing a cohesive and diverse project team of ship personnel, shipyard leaders, shipyard tradesmen and nearly a dozen other companies doing contracted project work. -
