I serve as the subject matter expert and lead for Health IT and digital health policies for the College. My policy portfolio includes implementation of the 21st Century Cures Act, Interoperability, Digital Health, Software as a Medical Device (SaMD), digital health privacy, Machine Learning/ Artificial Intelligence.

Using his experience as an IVF dad and infertility patient, fertility patient advocate, and background in Health IT and digital health policy, as Founder I am working to build a secure, mobile application that empowers patients going through fertility treatments by giving them comprehensive, secure access to the health and financial information they need to make more informed decisions about their care.The Grain Fertility application will give patients access to their medical information when they want it; organizational tools and access to health insurance information; financial tools for patients to track their fertility care expenses; and security they can trust with a consent based, HIPAA compliant system. I volunteer as a passionate advocate to help improve access to infertility treatment and family building options for all Americans. Driven by my family's own experience dealing with infertility, I started volunteering for RESOLVE in 2018, joined the volunteer planning committee in 2019 by helping to develop training materials for advocates, and was asked to serve as co-chair for Advocacy Day 2020. Leaning on my professional experiences in health care policy, as co-chair, I helped lead efforts to successfully pivot from an in=person to virtual advocacy event, leading to a record number of attendees, letters submitted to Congress, and states and Congressional districts represented at Advocacy Day.

As a Senior Manager of Health Policy, I supported the Director of Health Policy in the development and execution of the AAO-HNS/F’s and department’s goals and to ensure that the Academy maintains a leadership role in physician payment and socioeconomics for otolaryngology-head and neck surgery services. I developed comment letters and materials that assist members in the participation of new payment models, regulatory compliance related to quality reporting, payer advocacy issues, and optimizing reimbursement for services.As a Senior Manager, I contributed to the success of the AAO-HNS/F’s practice management and health policy advocacy programs by initiating proposals and developing solutions to health policy challenges facing otolaryngologists. I worked with the AMA, CMS/CMMI, private payers, and other medical specialty societies to achieve common goals and leverage resources.Additionally, I led CPT activities and assisted with preparation for physician leader presentations before the CPT Editorial Panel.

Serve as Consumer Assistance topic lead, directly leading a team and managing my client and their work stream. I serve as the subject matter expert for ACA consumer assistance programs and have extensive experience in federal regulatory policy. In addition to serving as topic lead for my project, I also serve as a writer for the Booz Allen Hamilton Health Policy digest, working to summarize recently published health policy articles for distribution to entire Health team.
