Pluff Mudd Events organises and provides services for a wide variety of events; Event planning, event photography, decor and theming are some of the services that we provide.I over see the day to day running of the company which includes but not limited to conducting market research, staffing, accounting and finance, communications, event planning and logistics to name a few of my responsibilities.

My primary role as an entertainment staff member was to assist the cruise director daily to create a fun and entertaining environment for the guests, as well as help the cruise director and assistant cruise director in the overall management of the entertainment department. I was in charge of running a variety of the activities that happened around the ship and was often called upon by both guests and crew to answer questions involving all facets of the ship, including schedules, safety, concessions and ports of call. Essentially, middle management in the entertainment department, entertainment staff are often responsible for ensuring information and e-mails are properly communicated, essential paperwork is completed and meetings and drills are attended by all members of the department. I often had to address large crowds of people between 400 and 1200 people in a large theatre.

I worked as a marketing manager for a nationwide nightclub promotions company. My main responsibilities were: creating and developing marketing and promotional plans, on site event management, weekly finance, social media outlet management, recruitment, brand management; I had to manage two different brands therefore diversified the event program to differentiate the brands and therefore capture a larger target market.

I was the manager of a public relations team in Italy. My main responsibility was to manage and train the PR staff. The summer nightclub season in Rimini is a very competitive market as there are several other clubs to compete with. Life clubs’ USP is that it targets towards the younger tourist market (non Italian) i.e. 16-23 year olds, with an event program tailored towards this market. I had to ensure that the PR staff understood which tourists to target by explaining the event program. The PR staff consisted of several nationalities: Dutch, Finnish, German and Italian to name a few, therefore I had to communicate clearly and concisely in English so that they understood, although I can speak German to a high level as well as basic Italian, Dutch and Swedish and have a talent of picking up languages very quickly. I had to manage and ensure bookings from travel agencies as well as coordinate transport to and from the nightclub by liaising with the travel agencies. I believe that I was very successful at this job as the club had its most successful season in seven years even though more popular tourist destinations are now on the market.

I worked for an event crewing company, working on a variety of events from conferences to awards ceremonies. My job was to construct technical equipment such as lights, sound and staging.

I worked for the very prestigious Lord Poulett Arms who won the Gastro Pub of the year award in 2008, I had many responsibilities; customer service, hotel and restaurant bookings and also working within a successful team which allowed us to be a very productive and award winning pub.

As part of my placement year I worked as an assistant to the visitor services manager, my main responsibilities were organising events, promotional design work, press releases, ordering equipment, working with customers and clients and a number of jobs to manage the day to day running of several National Trust properties such as: Montacutue House, Tintinhull Gardens and Lytes Cary.
