CFS is a nonprofit corporation that provides videographers in the San Francisco Bay area with a venue for screening locally produced video, educational programs about digital filmmaking, and a place where they can share techniques and ideas with other video artists. Each month I create and publish a variety of publicity pieces about upcoming programs. These include: - Short promotional videos, aired on local TV & streamed from the CFS & other sites, - Short promotional audio packages, aired on local radio, - A monthly press kit distributed to Bay Area newspaper & magazine editors, - HTML postings on local news and entertainment blogs & websites, - Two monthly graphical email postings for Film Society members,- My company developed the CFS website (www.hmbfilm.org) which I update monthly with the help of CFS volunteers.

Supervise production, videotaping, editing, and postproduction of corporate video. Employees usually access these productions as streaming video delivered via a corporate intranet.For example, I headed up a project to create 10 training videos for Logitech. Project began with a video shoot during a conclave of Logitech support engineers. I mixed this footage with screen shots and narration from Logitech's training manager. The custom music soundtrack was generated using Smartsound’s Quicktracks. I mixed all this material down into a 1 hour rough cut. After feedback, it was cut down further into ten, 3-minute training videos. I created HTML pages to provide easy access to the training videos from the Logitech streaming video server.I am familiar with a wide range of video and audio production and post-production products including audio editors, DVD authoring tools, paint and drawing tools (such as Photoshop and Illustrator), and video effects tools (such as After Effects).

I have directed teams of videographers, still photographers, sound recording artists, and others working together to produce a variety of group projects for both MCTV and the Film Society.During my years there, I have shot with a wide range of HD, DV, miniDV, DV-CAM, Beta-Pro, hi-8, and VHS cameras. MCTV uses Final Cut Pro as its nonlinear editor and SoundtrackPro for audio editing.

Clients have included AT&T, Pyramid Systems, Red Pepper, and Total Immersion. Each job is different. For example, At Total Immersion I was the writing member on an Agile development team (7 programmers, a QA guy, and I). We developed a system that generates three dimensional interactive simulations from US Department of Defense maps. The system is highly complex and, literally, releases occur daily, which makes the documentation process challenging.

Pixim produces a series of high-dynamic-range camera sensors, processors, and devel-opment environments used to take best advantage of that silicon. My responsibilities at Pixim included: - Overhaul of existing QA test matrixes so that we could accurately test the reliability of current and in-development Pixim software and chips, - Design of black box and white box tests from specs, documenting my setups so less experienced QA engineers could re-run my tests. Coded the tests in Pixim Control Language, a derivative of C,- Updating of documentation to reflect the realities of product design,- Interaction with developers & customer support to resolve product & spec issues.

Responsible for the creation and publication of all new marketing collateral and internal communiqués; updating policies and procedures; and coordination of the TQM (Total Quality Management) program. Also spearheaded preparation for our first accreditation inspection by the Joint Commission, a federal accreditation agency. We passed that inspection “with commendation”, a rating I am told only 3% of the organizations inspected ever earn.

Covidea was an R&D partnership between AT&T, Chemical Bank, Bank of America, & Time Warner tasked to build and run experimental electronic shopping, banking, and information services. I oversaw the development and testing of new services, and ran focus groups and market testing of products that had gone into alpha, beta, & final release.
