I teach math to 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. I am also the homeroom teacher for the 6th graders.

I had many different roles at Akiba-Schechter. I started as a teachers aid working with a variety of teachers, including three years assisting the award-winning Scott Salk with 1st and 2nd graders.For 10 years I taught math, history, ELA and humanities to 5th and 6th graders. I also was the lead teacher for 3rd and 4th graders for six years. During my tenure at Akiba, I was a finalist for the ATT Hartman Educator of the Year award three times. Additionally, was the advisor for our school newspaper, ran the after school homework help program, and coached the girls basketball team since its inception in 2018.

I worked with students (grades 1-12) with emotional and behavioral issues. While the work was challenging, I formed many great relationships and learned many skills that prepared me for my current role as a head teacher.

I covered all the major pro sports in Chicago, including my beloved White Sox. Had the unique privilege of seeing them through their Championship season of 2005, which was also my first year. Amazing experience.
