In my current role as an Owner and acting General Manager I am principally involved in long term planning, fiscal responsibility, planned growth, positive reinforcement of our companies code of values and vision, facilitating leadership training, setting budgets, and following up with accountability. I also work directly with my department heads on agenda items that need more collaboration and teamwork.We are close to the top of our industry in technology usage to benefit our customers, streamline our processes, and maintain a competitive advantage over our competitors. We use high compression cloud video to show our customers that we performed the work we said we did. We use virtual reality for training purposes. We use Artificial Intelligence to speed up processes and give our people more time to work with customers instead of performing repetitive tasks.Day to day I coach and answer questions. I also advise on issues. An ever increasingly important part of my job is to to make sure we are continuing to be a great place to work and stay an employer of choice in our communities.Prior to my current position I was a Commercial Estimator. My primary responsibilities were estimating time, materials, and expenses, to complete Mechanical Projects. The skills that are required required in that role is a high level of attention to detail, the ability to read and understand 2D blueprints,while being able to visualize the project in your mind as a 3D layout. I would analyze technical documents, often reviewing thousands of pages of specifications, prepare material takeoff's utilizing advanced computer software to account for every part and piece, and produce detailed proposals and bid document packages, both for the private and open market. Once a project was accepted I would perform final vendor selections for materials, select subcontractors, and perform any RFI’s or change order requests for the project. We foster great relationships and work very closely with Engineers, General Contractors, Project Managers, Owner’s, and Vendors to complete the project using the best practices available. Often times we are called upon to provide ideas for value engineering, providing out of the box solutions, and analysis for improvement of existing systems and structures. We also have many years of knowledge and experience working on Design Build projects. We view each opportunity as a partnership, and seek to foster long relationships through being easy to work with, removing many of the hurdles and obstacles that may occur in a project.
