Engineering Manager - 2003-05Managed a multi-disciplined engineering department consisting of over 30 individuals, comprised of four departments; Electronics Engineering Group, Mechanical Engineering Group, Test and Instrumentation Group and Prototype/Race shop. Responsible for all product and system development from concept to production. Developed product requirements documentation. Managed department work load. Work with outside vendors and off-shore manufacturers to reduce component costs. Responsible for the department’s annual budget of over $2.1 Million. Electronics Engineering Group Manager - 2002-04Managed an electronics engineering group of eight individuals which consisted of both hardware and software/firmware development. Responsible for product development including concept creation, product requirements, engineering development schedule, design criteria, test and validation, project budget and end product costs. Oversaw the design, technical implementation and architecture of new products. Conducted competitive product evaluation research and analysis. Worked closely with mechanical engineering group to ensure proper integration of electronic products into mechanical systems. Worked with vendors and manufacturers to streamline manufacturing through product launch. Worked with marketing and creative group to define product features and benefits.

Managed engineering department to reverse engineer automotive components to develop testing and remanufacturing processes for air mass sensors, fuel injectors, engine control units, powertrain electronics, warm-up regulators, Bosch fuel distributors and fuel pumps. Developed custom test and measurement equipment to test company products to ensure components meet or exceed OEM standards. Developed in-house software to track core inventory and returns, customer resource management and technical support software (help desk). Worked with outside vendors to obtain specialty raw materials necessary to remanufacture automotive components.
