About Joe Frank

What can I do for you to apply my 30+ years of experience in engineering R&D, product launch and field support? My rich engineering history has taken me from "Pencils to PDM". If you think of how far we have come from the days of slide rules, T-squares and drafting boards to Engineered solutions with an array of softwares...there has been a lot!Far too many organizations think it is simply a software for Engineers to impose revision control over their CAD data. PDM is so much more than that! Think about how work flows thru your company? Does the work stop when Engineering releases the models or drawings? Neither does PDM! With tasks, templates, and workflows an administrator can do so much more than just "revision control". And that's only the beginning!!! With Solidworks Manage now being added to the portfolio, much more can be done to manage your flow of data beyond the Engineering life cycle and into areas of your organization where most PDM softwares stop short.

Senior Designer - In the Engineering department I principally worked with SolidWorks 2015 to launch our current product lines into 3-D. My design responsibilities involved a heavy focus on sheet metal weldments and massive assembly configurations in an effort to decrease overall product design time. My years of SolidWorks experience gave me a strong mentoring ability with others in the department to help integrate the software into becoming our native CAD system.Lead role in a CAD administration capacity over three key areas. First was by creating, implementing, and maintaining an in depth EPDM workflow system that supported a more fluid sign-off procedure and was mindful of data migration requirements. Second was by building an EPDM BOM process that integrated manufacturing needs, thus greatly reducing timing and errors during the release process. Third was by building a data migration program and protocol to import the nearly 100,000 models and drawing from the existing CAD database so that the data integrity and revision history was maintained and protected.
