I am a Chartered Financial Planner and a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society, specialising in Retirement Planning.Here are some examples of clients I have helped:Chris is 42, smart and previously had a high flying job with a large employer. He was well paid but didn’t love his job, was often working long hours and didn’t have enough time to spend with his wife and children. He was curious about starting his own business but didn’t have the confidence to pursue it. I helped him establish his strengths and establish what he wanted his life to look like. I modelled different scenarios for him to show what launching a business might mean for him and his family from a financial and lifestyle perspective. He now runs a successful business doing something he is passionate about, he provides an incredible service to his clients and best of all he now has far more free time to enjoy with his family and pursuing his hobbies and interests. Trevor and his wife Laura are age 50, they have worked 9 to 5 for over thirty years in well paid but unrewarding jobs, they are tired and want to enjoy life more. They now have a 2 year plan to quit their jobs and then work for the National Trust until age 58, using assets such as investments and property to provide them with growing wealth and income. From age 58 they plan to tour the UK in their campervan and will consider side hustles. David is 55 and widowed. He has worked for nearly 40 years for big corporations, the commute has become a grind, the job brings him no happiness and he is disillusioned with the firm. A golf fanatic with a love for travel and good food. We have a plan for him to retire immediately, improve his fitness and start a small business arranging golf travel packages using his expert knowledge of Spanish and Portuguese golf courses. We also have a plan to make sure his lifestyle is balanced and varied so that the golf doesn’t take over. He will be drawing an income from his Pensions and ISAs immediately and we have carried out a robust assessment to determine the sustainability of his planned withdrawals.
