Joe Higgins is an experienced business leader who has held senior positions across the financial services sector. Joe has extensive experience at board level, particularly in undertaking and implementing strategic reviews, delivering transformational change and in developing appropriate financial reporting and risk management arrangements.Whilst working as a banker, Joe led teams across retail, commercial and corporate banking and at different times was responsible for setting up new businesses, transforming existing ones and ultimately leading the closure of a non-core business. When he established Certus to manage the closure of the Bank of Scotland (Ireland), he appreciated the opportunity to establish a business with a focus on high-performance, innovation and strong risk and financial management.In 2013, Joe was one of the first cohort to complete the Certified Banking Director qualification introduced by the Institute of Bankers in Ireland. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.Since 2016, Joe has taken up a number of charitable non-Executive positions at Board level and as a member of the relevant Finance, Audit and Risk committees.
