Joe’s career-long involvement in the Outdoor Industry is what led him to Telluride, Colorado. While attending Northwood and Wayne State universities in Michigan, Joe spent his free time traveling around North America discovering and developing his passions for skiing, fishing, sailing and golf. In 1998, Joe became the General Manager of Moosejaw Mountaineering, one of the most successful “click-and-brick” retailers the outdoor industry has ever seen, still true to this day. In 2001, Joe became the Great Lakes Territory Sales Representative for Yvon and Malinda Chouinard at Patagonia Clothing Company, managing over $60,000,000 in wholesale business in just under 5 years. Upon arriving in Telluride in 2006, Joe met Bob and Penelope Gleason of Bootdoctors. He quickly became one of the highest producing members of the Bootdoctor’s sales team, and remains one of Bob’s top boot-fit consultants at the Mountain Village location. “I moved to Telluride 11 years ago for a ski season, and thank goodness I never left”, is how Joe sums up the joy of living in the Northern San Juan Mountains. Joe has been a professional fly fishing guide, whitewater rafting guide, Assistant Golf Professional at Telluride Ski & Golf Club, as well as Assistant Golf Professional at Greystone Golf Club in Romeo, Michigan. “I’ve always been super lucky to work for and with truly amazing people,” Joe says, “and that luck definitely continues to bless me at Telluride Properties.”
