I'm a former professional football player who after leaving the full time game played, coached and managed in the semi professional football setting across the UK. The skills and qualifications I gained along the way include FA Youth Awards modules 1 & 2; FA level 1, 2 & UEFA B; Teaching qualification (Cert Ed); FA Tutor Licence; Mentoring; Gangs Intervention Trainer. The skills and qualifications gained enabled me to work in the further education sector as well as the Football Association developing young people and adult coaches from the college setting and junior football clubs at levels 1 and 2. I'm Assessor and Internal Quality Assurance qualified. I also have vast experience in designing and running programmes. This experience led me to establish an organisation called NPV Football Development which was specifically set up to work with young people at risk of being involved in gangs. The programme is called Learning Through Football which uses football as a tool to develop life skills of the young people with them ultimately becoming leaders and qualified coaches.As well as being a CEO and Coach Educator, I also deliver training on the Eugangs programme which is a course that gives insight to professionals and practitioners who work with young people affected by or who are involved in gang related activity. I am also the chair of Wolverhampton Citizens for Change, a community based organisation that works with and alongside the police and other statutory agencies to develop strategies in an aim to prevent gang violence and associated activities within the city. I am a vastly experienced practitioner in a range of areas from working directly with young people through to working at the strategic end of the continuum.
