As part of a project to migrate from physical data centers to running entirely in the cloud while updating technologies, I was brought onboard for possible replacement of SolarWinds with SL-1. When this didn’t happen, I shifted to learning, designing, and deploying VMware Horizon 8 in the VM Cloud on AWS environments before migrating the virtual workstations and users to it ahead of schedule. I then set up the Cloud Pod Architecture in Horizon to allow workstations to run from any Pod for disaster recovery, resource consumption, maintenance, and testing purposes.I also trained on Aria Automation and Orchestrator to begin automating server builds similar to what I had done with Horizon, but the position (and a dozen others) was not carried into the new contract year due to budgetary issues in the department.• Designed, deployed Horizon 8 VDI platform to migrate users to VMC on AWS cloud workstations• Trained/prepared for Aria Automation implementation before contract ended (budget issues)• Supported vSphere, NSX-T, NSX-ALB, and SRM as part of the virtualization team • Configured Active Directory and Group Policy to control user access to workstations and apps• Performed problem diagnosis and resolution as part of the Windows Team. • Provided extensive documentation on all procedures, projects in addition to Service Now/JIRA

This position began as an effort to develop an MTIPS filtration service for the company to gain access to larger government contracts. I deployed the Proof of Concept platform consisting of Dell servers and SAN supporting and Juniper network components. The POC succeeded and moved into the next phase where I and a Network Engineer deployed two production environments including Fortinet, Infoblox, and SL-1 (EM7) equipment/software. The platforms were configured using NSX-T to allow hot migration (Storage vMotion) of servers between sites for DR purposes. Just as we were approaching final validation for production deployment as a FIPS compliant platform, the company was acquired by one with an existing MTIPS solution.At this point, the environments were repurposed to support monitoring of government assets. The vSphere and NSX-T components were rebuilt and other components removed or reconfigured for the new purpose. The environment was brought online on time and under budget. I assisted with replicating this environment in an even larger monitoring complex before departing the position. • Deployment of three (2 prod, 1 test) FISMA high customer hosting data centers (VA & TX)• Designed, deployed test and prod AD/DNS domains and modified Group Policy for security• Deployed and configured the Windows Certificate Authority servers • Set up ESXi, SANs, vSphere clusters, and defining an NSX-V network for active-active prod sites• Set up templated deployment of Windows servers and Linux servers • Deployed EM7 (SL1) customized monitoring, email, and ticketing (problem and change)• Experienced at deploying and managing Infoblox DNS security platforms
