Provide support to the Facilities Management Department at the Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD). Oversee building systems such as the HVAC automation controls, door access controls, seismic monitoring system and infant security system. Manage special upgrade projects to the hospital and clinics as well as provide technical consulting to various other projects.

With Johnson Controls Federal systems I am tasked with maintenance and upgrades of the DDC systems at Balboa NMCSD (Navy Medical Center San Diego) and associated clinics on the AWEMS (Area wide Energy Management System). Preventative maintenance on direct digital controllers, actuators, and sensors. Respond to trouble tickets, ensuring customer comfort and satisfaction. Create and execute projects to continuously improve the HVAC control system. Perform upgrades to outdated computers, controllers, sensors and actuators.

Greater San Diego Area

My role with the team at Johnson Controls was to primarily work at the UCSD campus.Create or modify DDC drawings.Generate HVAC sequences and develop controller logic.Work with sub-contracted electricians to ensure correct installation and quality control.Download DDC controllers and commission for proper operation in the field.Generate as-built drawings from red lined changes done during installation. Gave customer orientation at the completion of each job as well as held classes to instruct customers on how to use JCI software.

Green Bay, Wisconsin Area

At Cellcom, I worked to assure consistent operations of the cell sites in our network. I was assigned 42 cell sites in the Green Bay area.Monitored sites with a remote connection into their Unix based server. Allowing me to identify issues and control the radios. Performed preventative maintenance on the sites I was responsible for. Tasks included visual inspection, housekeeping, and gather readings for optimal performance. Participated in an on-call schedule to respond to any cell site in my region. Assembled cell site hardware after the tower’s infrastructure was assembled. Installing the radios, duplexers and batteries and tested. Worked on a special project to develop a SNMP trap monitoring station using surplus laptops retrofitted with CentOS linux.Created an internet database to map out all of our cell sites.

Appleton, Wi

As a technician, I traveled to construction sites of new or renovated buildings to set up the building automation system (BAS). Verified electrical installation against control drawings. Program and download application to controllers.Checked all inputs and outputs of each controller and commissioned the logic for proper operation. Connect network infrastructure between HVAC equipment using N2 or BACnet. Set up the workstation to view the HVAC system and trained the customer on the operation of the DDC and HVAC system.
