Key experience:- Heavily involved in a number of LIBOR FCA investigations. In particular, representing a senior banking figure in relation to the bank's internal and FCA investigations. The work involved being au fait with a lot of banking jargon, analysing disclosure and anticipating the approach to be taken by the internal investigation legal team and FCA, advising the client regarding potential regulatory and criminal aspects, working closely with US attorneys regarding concurrent DoJ and CFCT investigations and considering cross-jurisdictional issues; - Representation of 3 companies and 4 individuals in relation to a major Environment Agency prosecution for illegal depositing, incineration and storing of waste. Particularly involved in taking instructions on the evidence from the individual clients, taking and drafting section 9 statements from employees, instructing various experts, and ultimately preparing mitigation; - Conduct over several HSE investigation and prosecution matters. Visiting clients’ sites to take instructions and statements, drafting prepared statements and letters of representations to the HSE, advising on plea, instructing counsel and preparing mitigation; and- Advising a number of health professionals under investigation by their professional bodies including the GMC, NMC and GDC;
