As Operations Control Center Manager of the first automated facility in the Americas, responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of the facility including directing a team of 15 managers/ assistant managers with a focus on Innovative Process Optimisation. Key tasks and highlights included: Managed an operating budget in excess of 6M USD per annum. Supervised projects to increase terminal productivity and reducing operating costs including a Multi-handling project excellence (PEX) group that saved the company 600K USD. Regularly met with customers including shipping lines and distribution centres to ensure that the operational methods were in line with their needs and expectations.  Provided consultancy services to other ports within the VIT group related to optimisation and operational procedure. This led to a significant reduction in the operational budget of the terminal.  Manage terminal operating cost by finding improved ways to gain efficiencies with ILA Labour and consolidating job functionality. Developed training documentation and operational procedures for Marine, Rail, and Yard operations in an automated environment and trained managers and labour in the complex terminal operating system. Provided technical expertise to support to Cargo Vessel, Terminal, and Rail operations. Worked with Navis, Camco and Nascent to develop and test gate systems functionality. Worked with DGPS provider to validate functionality/communications with Terminal OS.  Debugged TOS System including, Expert Decking, ASC parameters, Prime Route, supplier interfaces. Tracked, documented, and initiated solutions to terminal operating system deficiencies.

As Asst. Project manager for the state of the art, first of its kind automated facility, held a wide range of responsibilities including designing a new Dynamic Global Positioning System to interface with the Automated Terminal Operating System. This system was responsible for tracking all equipment movement on the automated facility. Key tasks and highlights included: Evaluated, tested, and trouble-shooted a Terminal Operating System that was responsible for automatically instructing all automated and manned equipment on the facility, as well as tracking all of the containerised commercial cargo on the facility.  Responsible for creating, validating and training operational staff on Standard Operation Procedures. Proactively managed terminal operating cost by finding improved ways to gain labour efficiencies.  Supervised and directed daily activities of Assistant managers and labour, quickly responding to changing business needs. Assisted with the implementation of remote reefer monitoring systems. Developed Yard Standard Operational Procedures for automated facility.
