I am a PhD student at Maynooth University in Ireland, researching the growth of Massive Black Holes in the High-z Universe. I am doing this through the use of high resolution simulations and numerical techniques, with the hopes of using the results from this research to aid with the scientific goals of the upcoming gravitational wave observatory, LISA.

Using an adaptive mesh refinement code, Enzo, I am simulating and analysing the dynamics of MBH in a high redshift environmentin order to gain an understanding in how these black holes coalesce and produce the gravitational waves that will be observed by LISA (Laser Interferometer Space Antenna, due to be launched in the 2030's).
