I continue to support Global Business Development for the Seating division in Europe. I regularly coordinate activities between North America, South America, China and Europe. I act as the "tip of the spear" in providing technical sales and development with all Automotive customers in Europe for Magna's Seating division.

At this time, I started an overseas Ex-Pat contract working for Magna Seating in the European Headquarters in Sailauf, Germany. I have worked in over 10 countries in Europe and with more than 12 customers developing business relationships and presenting our technical expertise in seating development.

In my first official engineering role after graduation, I took over the seat complete responsibilities for the 2nd row seats in the Chevy Equinox and Pontiac Torrent. This included structure, plastic, trim cover, foam, comfort and styling refinements for a serial production program.Next, I took on responsibility for the complete 2nd row seat structure design for the next generation of this vehicle.In my next role, as Magna Seating reorganized into a "matrix organization", I played a key part in our core structure team supporting multiple program teams with applications of our core Lessons Learned and Best Practices related to seat structures.

During this time, I worked as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Tanzania, East Africa. In this role, I lived in a small village working primarily as a math teacher in an all-girls secondary school. I also organized an after school group of students to promote HIV/AIDS education to rural people in our region. I spoke Kiswahili, planted my own fruits and vegetables and lived in the same conditions as my neighbors around me. This was a fantastic "life experience", which taught me endless lessons about culture, perseverance, attitude, respect, etc.

6 months of each year during university was spent doing first-hand work experience within the Magna Seating group of companies. I worked in our test labs, on the assembly line in Ontario and St. Louis and in multiple different groups learning the complete business.
