Technical expert on control strategy development using Raptor and MotoHawk code generation tools (MATLAB/Simulink based).Developed electric vehicle supervisory software product offering; software included sensor/actuator characterizations, component CAN communications, high-voltage startup & shutdown sequence, drive motor torque request path, support for both on-board AC and off-board DC fast charging, cooling pump and chiller strategies, HVAC control, other accessory control strategies, and diagnostics. Offering also included a series hybrid add-on (genset control).Application software lead on over 20 electric and hybrid-electric vehicle projects. Work included adapting base supervisory software (described above) for the project's unique architecture and functional requirements, calibration, software function testing, system level testing, and follow-on support throughout validation.Carried out systems integration tasks, including specifying appropriate I/O and components and creating/reviewing architectural and wiring block diagrams.Developed engine control software product offering, comprised of four parts: base air/fuel/spark strategy, torque path add-on (torque arbitration, torque reserve, and slow/fast path request), J1939 communications add-on (DM services and PGN messages), and OBD major monitors add-on (catalyst, O2 sensor, fuel system, etc.).Technical co-lead on project for U.S. military to provide replacements for 3 end-of-life control modules on a heavy-duty container handler; work required reverse-engineering software functionality (including hydraulic controls and CAN comms).Completed ISO26262 certification (automotive functional safety).Architect for feature set and workflow of Raptor-Cal calibration tool.Performed SFMEA with ISO26262 consideration for hybrid vehicle controller.
