A graduate Mechanical Engineer from the University of Illinois. The first five years of my career were in aerospace: two years at Cape Canaveral as an Engineer in support of the launch of Apollo/Saturn 1B rockets and 3 years in developmental testing of engines for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in West Palm Beach, Florida. Early career in the oil and gas business involved design, development and marketing of valves, thrusters, and drilling equipment with FMC and Baylor Company. For five years, I was Sr. Engineer authoring specifications for and interfacing with manufacturers of deepwater subsea drilling equipment for The Offshore Company (legacy company for Transocean). Was onboard retrofitted and newbuild drilling rigs during construction and on location during first deployments of new subsea equipment. Worked for Hydrill Company for 19 years designing and marketing products for various oil field applications. Authored 22 U.S. Patents some of which remain in use in the oil and gas business. Since 1998 I have worked with World Marine managing the marketing of shipyard services primarily for the Gulf of Mexico energy business. We build, refurbish, convert, repair, upgrade and perform Special Periodic Surveys on offshore drilling and production units and ships. We have built floating power generation plants for Africa and South America.
