This role had two quite different responsibilities:- manage the P&L, grow Amex's credit card accounts receivables and deliver PTI; and- ownership of the Starwood American Express credit card products and Amex's proprietary lending credit card products.This position required a strong understanding of the dynamics of the Lending P&L and in depth knowledge of customer needs, the competitive and regulatory environment and all facets of the Amex business (tech, legal, compliance, risk, credit, marketing, customer service, rewards).Key focus areas: strong leadership and relationship skills, strategic vision and ability to drive results to drive cards acquired, spend, revolve balances and portfolio profitability.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time in the NPD team - the role was demanding and forced me to develop a deep and true understanding of the complexities in the organisation and how all departments of the business function together. Two of the key strategic projects that I led in NPD were:- the migration of all Amex cards to EMV chip cards; and - the creation, build and launch of Amex's small business credit card products.
