I am currently in charge of the Cost Estimating department for Venango Steel. I was hired out of college as an Estimator and was promoted to Lead Estimator within eight months. Since then, I have focused on overseeing a staff of up to four people while being in charge of quoting large projects and negotiating sales contracts. I have also served as project manager for large projects as they move through the shop and work as a customer liasion for these projects. I have quoted and manged parts from $1.00 up to $150,000 components. I also participate in weekly scheduling and production meetings, along with focusing on process improvement in all areas of the company.

I helped set-up and install the company's new ERP system, Plexus-Online. I essentially entered all of the company information into this system as they prepared to take it live. This included product information, prints, employee information, and training modules.

I prepared quotations for the Sales Manager to send out to customers by performing the initial calculations and set-up. I would then submit pricing to the customers and follow-up with the sales representatives. I also developed a process flow-chart and spreadsheet to track the quoting process from start to finish. Other miscellaneous duties included assisting engineering on certain projects and data entry.
