Junior Business Analyst

Barton Upon Humber, England, United Kingdom

In this role I am responsible delivering new projects on Wrens ‘in-house’ CAD software for kitchen designs. This includes scoping requirements for new features we wish to add to the software and managing developers time to prioritise the business needs. This role not only includes business analyst responsibilities, but project management too. I see projects from start to finish; this ranges from meeting with stakeholders to find requirements for the new features, to helping with testing to confirm the behaviours implemented by the developers are what the business intended.I manage two teams of developers on two different areas of the design software, meaning the work is fast paced and requires constant upkeep of requirement gathering.I work in an agile environment, meaning we are able to adapt our development approaches to new features based on business priorities.

Sales Representative

Leeds, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom

Within this job role I am responsible for building the depots business, I do so by opening new accounts with individuals within a building trade and bringing in new contracted work. This job role requires me to work independently as I am out on the road visiting various work sites throughout the day. I speak to the project manager and/or the quantity surveyor on large construction sites in order to gain their business (supply of their kitchens and joinery). Therefore, I am consistently engaging in interactions with new people and forming new relationships. Although working independently for the majority of my job role, good communication and teamwork is required to make the depot succeed. Once I have successfully built a relationship with a project manager/quantity surveyor, who will allow us to tender for their business, I contact the head of our Contracts Division who then arranges a meeting to discuss prices and designs with the client. Alternatively, for smaller work, I would pass the details on to the kitchen designers within our depot who will then take it from there. However, if opening a new account for a customer, I must create their contact card with relevant details of what they will be interested in, allowing our business developers to successfully contact and sell our products to the customer. Throughout the week I will arrange several meetings with clients, therefore requiring good organisational and time management skills in order to keep on track with other responsibilities.

Barista

Castleford, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom

During my time at Starbucks I completed my training to become a qualified Barista, this job role requires you to learn how to make all the drinks available on the menu, to a consistently high standard. The job of a Barista requires good time management and organisational skills within a high paced environment, as you often have to multi-task and prepare your next drink or two while currently already making a drink. When I wasn't making the drinks, I was responsible for serving customers on the till and maintaining the store by cleaning the tables, sweeping the floor and cleaning any plates/cups ready for the next customers. Within Starbucks it is important to communicate well and work as a team as each staff member will have a different job role during the shift. If on the till, you must accurately write down the correct abbreviation of the drink ordered, including any syrups or milk in order for the Barista to make the correct drink. This is important as many customers will request specific drinks/milks due to allergies, therefore communication between staff within a high paced environment is important for the customers health and the stores success. At the end of each shift we were responsible for cleaning the whole of the store within a set time limit, therefore each staff member would be assigned a responsibility such as mopping the floors, cleaning the ovens, stocking the food or cleaning the toilets.

Sales Assistant

Dixons Carphone

Leeds, United Kingdom

As a sales assistant at Curry's PC World I had many responsibilities which have led to the development of my communication, time management and organisational skills. Firstly, I was required to serve and advise customers to the best of my ability using my extended knowledge of products; the department I was trained in was televisions. I voluntarily attended training in order to further my product knowledge and enhance customers experiences in store. I had my own allocated department within the store of which I was required to maintain; this included actively replenishing stock levels, cleaning and dusting the department and keeping the televisions demonstration ready. These responsibilities have led to the development of my time management as I was required to maintain this department throughout my shift alongside serving customers and reaching sales targets. Throughout my time at Curry's PC World I was required to meet several individual targets which contributed towards the overall stores target. Reaching these targets has improved my teamwork skills as we all worked cohesively in order to achieve the set goal. Although not required, I voluntarily attended extra training on other products sold in the store in order to help other employees when we were busy/short on staff members, this allowed me to further assist customers wanting knowledgeable advice. I was responsible for setting up finance plans with customers for their large purchases, whether this be for business or personal use.
