I joined the Aviation Technology Department in 2018 and since then I teach Unmanned Aircraft System courses to students and aviation professionals. I devised and now teach courses in UAS Flight Operations (I, II, III), UAS Business Management, and UAS Logistics that became a basis for establishing a new Bachelor’s degree. As a Flight Director, I govern and oversee all operations associated with Flight Programs, covering strategic planning, budgeting, compliance, and reporting. Besides, since November 2020, I serve as a Prospective Student Outreach Lead. In this role, I plan and coordinate prospective student outreach efforts to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of student recruitment outcomes. I am also a Department Marketing Manager (since September 2020) who develops and executes strategic marketing initiatives to achieve Sinclair College’s enrollment goals. Other significant roles include an FAA Liaison for the Collegiate Training Initiative (CTI) (October 2020 - Present) and a COVID Data Migration Lead (March 2020 - December 2020).

Joe is endorsed as Operator and Observer on the F6500 NOVA, F7200 NOVA and R8400 Galaxy platforms for field operations in the greater United States. Overhauling the flight instruction wing allowed for a robust training program that is able to travel around the country and provide the same quality 3 day training regardless of location. aligning the UAS training standards with traditional manned aviation training lead to a 15% reduction of retraining requests and a 3% reduction to incidence and accidents with customer UAS.

Utilizing manned Commercial Aviation piloting and maintenance experience, a Joe developed a well rounded and comprehensive Scheduled Preventative and Field Maintenance program used to support the F7200 Nova and R8700 Galaxy. Joe continues to over see and develop the maintenance program after its implementation.

The development of these documents lead to a 60% reduction in customer service calls and a 15% reduction in retraining requests due directly to a more robust approach to documentation standards.
