Sr Scientist 1, Pharmacology / Toxicology at BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc.Innovative and well-published scientist with broad expertise in molecular cell biology, human liver biology and single cell genomics. Experienced toxicologist in large-molecule drug development and knowledgeable about GLP policies and regulatory nonclinical testing requirements for pharmaceutical development of biotherapeutics. I also lead investigative toxicology research to understand mechanisms of drug and target mediated toxicity for the most promising therapeutic drug candidates for treatment of a wide range of diseases, including metabolic diseases, oncology and immune oncology. I enjoy working in a multi-disciplinary collaborative environment, where my leadership skills and enthusiasm will help drive scientific innovation for the development of new therapies to improve human health.

Postdoctoral ScholarUniversity Of California, San Francisco Aug 2018 - Aug 2020San Francisco, California, UsPostdoctoral Scholar in the Wang lab at UCSF. My work focuses on establishing the role of hepatocyte stem cells in mouse and human liver development and during regeneration after injury. • Researching the cellular heterogeneity in mouse and human liver biology during ageing and injury.• Developing a pipeline for single cell analysis involving scRNA-seq, computational analysis, in situ spatial transcriptomics, and software-based quantification. • Performing in vivo liver disease modeling and AAV based genetic editing for cell lineage tracing experiments to study cell behavior during homeostasis and injury. Relevant skills include: - Bulk and scRNA-seq data processing and analysis- Spatial transcriptomics- 2D & 3D cell culture- Flow cytometry- Mouse handling & husbandry- AAV gene editing -
Postdoctoral Research AssociateKing'S College London Jan 2016 - Jul 2018London, Greater London, GbPost doctoral research associate in Stem cell liver therapy in the Centre for Stem Cells & Regenerative Medicine at King’s College London. My work here used single cell RNA sequencing to identify a true human fetal liver stem cell population to support the development of of IPSC-derived hepatocytes for cell therapy. This research led to a first author publication at Nature communications. Other work • Designed and executed experiments to understand the transcriptional networks driving human hepatocyte maturation from ESCs and IPSCs.• Used functional genomics to identify molecular pathways that could be targeted during stem cell directed differentiation and validated using, lentiviral infection, RT-PR, ELISA and imaging.• Developed Bash and R customs scripts to analyze and interpret single cell data.Relevant skills include: - ES & iPS cell culture- Bulk and scRNA-seq- 3D Organoid culture- Primary tissue processing- Confocal imaging analysis -
