My passion for building meaningful relationships between students and their education lies at the heart of my teaching practice. In my seventh year as a general and special education teacher, I strive to cultivate talent, support socio-emotional and academic growth, and inspire investment in learning. My diverse students, past and present, possess a wide variety of talents, interests, and needs. I have taught history, English language arts, science, the arts, math, and life skills. Additionally, my experience includes various settings—from charter school general education and ICT classrooms, to a small class of twice-exceptional 4th and 5th graders in an independent school. My students face various academic and socio-emotional challenges. I devote myself to rigorous study of each child through interaction, team collaboration, and analysis of work—all in an effort to provide the appropriate support while stimulating each child. At the same time, I strive to develop a safe community coalesced around learning and growing together.
