Responsible for overseeing the planning, performance, staffing, technical development, and overall direction of the Windstream Command & Control and IP NOC teams. The IP NOC is a 24x7 team of 30 analysts, managers, and engineers responsible for the repair and maintenance of all issues impacting the Windstream Nationwide IP Network. The Command & Control team is responsible for coordination, communication, and review/follow-up on Critical-level network outage events. Developed standards and processes to simplify workflow and remove roadblocks, including assigning experienced Team Lead analysts on each shift and empowering them to direct, coach, and nurture coworkers. Promoted change in overall team management style, transitioning from a "factory" model to a collaborative environment. Collaborated with developers to build automation that handled repetitive tasks, freeing managers and analysts to work more technically demanding issues.

Little Rock, Arkansas Area

One of two employees within Windstream selected to help stand up new Command & Control team as a part of the Network Command Center group. Responsible for developing standards, engagement triggers, and bridging gaps between the various NOCs with the goal of reducing MTTR (mean time to repair) on critical Network events, improving Executive-level communication, and improving collaboration. Leveraged extensive knowledge of Voice, Transport, and Data technologies to provide troubleshooting direction and coordination as well as post-event review and grading.

Assigned to Consultant role within IP Operations in January 2017. Responsible for process improvement through outage follow-up and review. Improved internal monitoring capabilities by working with Engineering to develop monitoring tools capable of providing advance warning of service-impacting issues. Collaborated with external teams within Windstream to provide IP Operations input on various projects including Remedy Ticket Automation, Alarm Rationalization, and Engineering Network review. Continued to provide managerial coverage during the week as well as weekends on-call.

Responsible for managing the 24x7 technical staff in Windstream’s Data Network Operations Center (DNOC). Managed members of the IP Core, Access, and Surveillance teams. Responsible for coverage during the week as well as weekends on-call. Responsibilities included hiring and maintaining a technically skilled staff, reporting on critical/high network events and outages, conducting regular staff meetings, setting performance expectations and evaluating employee performance, and escalating issues within Windstream as well as external vendors and carriers. Responsible for delivering an average of sub-4 hour MTTR (Mean Time to Repair) and 25% reduction in COM (Customer Outage Minutes).

Served as a technical lead and expert for the Data Network Operations Center (DNOC) Access team. Demonstrated high level of understanding of LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, ATM, Ethernet, Frame Relay and ADSL.Developed high level of proficiency in troubleshooting outages and service-impacting issues a wide array of vendor platforms across the Windstream network, including Cisco, Juniper, and Alcatel/Nokia.Demonstrated understanding and operating experience of a wide variety of technologies, including Ethernet switching, MPLS, BGP, Spanning Tree, VoIP, VRRP and ATM and/or Frame Relay.
