Ecommerce SpecialistNew Zealand Fine Touring Group Nov 2023 - PresentWanaka, Otago, New ZealandIn my role as Ecommerce Specialist at NZFT I have overhauled our Tag Manager tracking for 10 websites, and created uniform conversion and event tracking across all of them. I've built Looker Studio reports to surface data from sources including GA4, Google Ads, Google Sheets, Search Console, and Klaviyo (via Supermetrics) - creating blended data sources to tell stories about what's happening in the business and on our websites. My understanding of software architecture has proved crucial to the role, and allows me to liase with our team of developers to project manage significant CRM enhancements such as report building, or website improvements to UX, such as form flows. We use bespoke CRM and CMS, something I have encountered across previous roles, giving me a strong understanding of the benefits and limitations of this approach. Now that we're confident that we have trustworthy data, I've implemented the company's first ever CRO strategy. We're now using best-in-class software to develop on-site conversion rate for our key enquiry types.I've also built an automated screening process for customer feedback, sending internal alerts and triggering emails to the end-user requesting reviews via Google if their initial feedback response reaches a specific score. We're now building our first ever Net Promoter Score and have the ability to analyse feedback based on the staff member the customer dealt with. We've had a long interim period without a Head of Marketing, so as the senior member of our small Marketing team, I've taken on a support and development role within the team - helping to communicate with senior management on behalf of the team. I have loved this aspect of the role. -
Business AnalystHype & Dexter, Apac Hubspot Partner Of The Year May 2022 - Dec 2022Auckland, New ZealandAs Business Analyst for H&D my core responsibility was to understand how a client business operates, and work with them, within our agile methodology, to find efficiency and improvement across everything they do, and execute via weekly sprints. Usually it was with the help of Hubspot.I brought my knowledge of custom CRM infrastructure to this role and found it extremely helpful in understanding data relationships and the implications of associating data across objects in a CRM.The role was heavily data focussed - often in the process of moving a client from their previous CRM onto HubSpot, we'll export their data, clean it up, and then import to HubSpot. A key aspect of the role is writing documentation (briefs), for data migration and data integrations, as well as drawing ERDs. We had an in-house dev team so I was expected to brief them in when a custom integration was required for a client's solution. The discovery process always includes mapping API endpoints between systems. -
Digital Projects ManagerRemarkable People Nov 2020 - May 2022Queenstown, Otago, New ZealandFollowing the hibernation of Kiwi OE, the other business owned by the Directors of Remarkable People, I was fortunate enough to be offered Digital Projects Manager in RP.In this role I was responsible for analysing current processes and technologies, and managing process change. I love making work lives easier by opening eyes to the possibilities in automation and digitisation - because we don't know what we don't know.Significant wins in this role: - Installed Google Analytics via Tag Manager, and measure key website metrics for the first time in the company's history. - Took website goal conversion rate from 1.75% to 5%+ by simplifying our most popular form, and the page path to it. At the same time we reduced form drop-off from 74% to 17%. - Established customer lifetime value metrics for the first time in the company's history. - Built performance measurement dashboards in Google Data Studio and implemented monthly reporting to the board of directors. -
Channel, Product, And Brand ManagerActive Adventures Jan 2020 - Jul 2020Queenstown, New ZealandThis role was disestablished due to Covid-19 in July 2020. 90% of Active Adventures' revenue came from overseas pre-pandemic.Biggest wins in this role include: - Project managing a branding 'facelift' for Active Adventures. This included a new logo, favicon, colour set, fonts, destination 'marks', and tone of voice documents. - Establishing a B2B marketing strategy in collaboration with the trade sales team. - Establishing a roadmap for product development so that the same process was repeatable. - Contributing to a B2B agent training process. - Establishing staff benefits with our suppliers. - During my time in this role and my previous one with Active, Digital Marketing Specialist, I was the leader of the Environmental Sustainability Team and was responsible for ensuring this international brand was finding as many manageable approaches as possible to operating with little or no footprint on our planet. I loved it, and we made great progress. Active Adventures are still industry leaders in this realm. -
Digital Marketing SpecialistActive Adventures Feb 2018 - Jan 2020Queenstown, New ZealandBiggest wins in this role include: - Pitched a successful business case for Drift chatbot technology on the website. Built conversation workflows and improved website UX by allowing the visitor to get answers to FAQs fast. We also improved lead volume by creating a new softer lead type, and integrated Drift and Mailchimp to make newsletter sign-up seamless.- Agile project management, and coordinating in-house devs on front and back-end projects. - Established presence as a business listing on an international, high-volume site, and grew qualified referral traffic by 31%.- Built digestible dashboard-style reports using Google Data Studio. Reports included key stats such as referral traffic volume and conversion rates. newsletter KPIs, and social media engagement and audience growth. I used several different connections to pull data, including multiple Google Analytics properties, and Google Sheets, - Project management of multiple web development projects, including: an in-house replacement for Google+ Collections after G+ was decommissioned. Another project created the functionality for our site to build 'on-the-fly' PDFs which pulled the contents of a selected page into a PDF document available for immediate download. - Data analysis project to establish whether posted or emailed brochures had higher conversion rates to sale. Made recommendations based on the results for how the business should move forward. These recommendations led to an uptick in revenue of roughly $1m. - Silverstripe CMS page building work. Built and launched new destination and trips on the website, created all the necessary CMS data relationships, added all content, tested, and sent live. -
Marketing CoordinatorActive Adventures Mar 2017 - Feb 2018Queenstown, New ZealandAs Marketing Coordinator for Active Adventures my role involved the creation of new content for multiple websites, as well as the day to day maintenance of that content, and of our business listings on third party sites. I also managed social media accounts for several businesses, and was responsible for interactions on various platforms with potential customers. Aside from those, I was also responsible for maintaining, editing, and updating lots of items of print and web collateral related to the products we offer. One of my biggest strengths is my ability to write engaging, informative content in a way that is succinct. I also feel as though my communications skills are very good, and enjoy working as part of a communicative team to solve problems and develop a business's potential for success. I believe I work best when given the creative freedom to brainstorm new ideas for content and the delivery of messaging. I also enjoy the opportunity to look for ways to improve current systems, as opposed to being tied to simply maintaining the processes already in place. At Active Adventures I enjoyed that creative freedom. -
GuideActive Adventures Oct 2015 - Feb 2017New ZealandPossibly the most fun I've had in any role, ever!We travelled around the South Island on 2-week all-inclusive adventure holidays with up to 14 guests, and usually 2 guides. My role, coming from a hospitality background up to this point, was feeding everyone, as well as making sure all accommodation and rooming requirements were correct. We often had dietary requirements to cater to, and so I was cooking for 16 people with different needs.Aside from that, my job was to keep everyone safe during hiking, biking, and kayaking excursions every day of the trip. This role taught me a heck of a lot about people and how to treat them. Over two weeks I got to know our guests on a highly personal level, and made a lot of lifelong friends - as well as that I had my initial assumptions about each of them changed for the better (and sometimes worse!), as each trip progressed. Looking back on this (writing this around 8 years later), I believe this role played a huge part in forming the character I am now. -
