I have been a managing software and mechanical engineer for over 19 years. I started out my professional career as a mechanical engineer at a small kit-car manufacturer. There I improved their engineering practices and learned how to manage complex working relationships. Around that time software, especially web applications, were becoming popular I was drawn into the software realm. There I leveraged my rigorous engineering background to develop commercial grade software for start-ups and major corporations including Schering-Plough Pharmaceutical, Pepper and Rogers, Siemens Business Solutions, the Veterans' Administration, and VBrick. I was at the forefront of various technologies including C#, .NET, AJAX, XML, SQL Server, and video streaming. My development experience is rich in the extensive exploitation of database architecture and stored procedures for robust, cost effective, and flexible applications. I was then fortunate to become VP of Engineering for another start-up venture, Exulans Corporation. Not only was my software engineering knowledge useful, but I was able to also rekindle my passion for mechanical engineering. Also all of the people management, vendor relations, and project management skills I had acquired were invaluable.Whatever the discipline, I have excelled at building teams of personnel that are capable of building robust products on time and under budget. My long experience in technology and engineering allows me to guide and advise upper management as to the direction their technology initiatives should take.
