Prompt EngineerSelf-Employed Jun 2024 - PresentAs many of you warned me about boredom in retirement, I did take on the challenge of learning a new skillset. I have been intrigued by the possibilities of Artificial Intelligence for a while now and dove in upon retirement. Today, I completed a 6-course sequence on Prompt Engineering for Large Language Models (ChatGPT and others) offered by Vanderbilt University with a 100% score on all six graded tests. During this time, I also have used ChatGPT to submit ten articles for publication and all ten have been accepted. As I wrote a few weeks ago, I have had four distinct and separate careers. This will make a fifth, but this will all be contractual on projects that I have a passion for. Learning to use this tool has been like have an invisible oracle to interact with whenever I choose.
