Eight years leading technical operation efforts for the upgrade of the companies leading military communication platform. Oversaw production rate increased from 50 radios per year to 250 per year. Transitioned to lead of a new DARPA transition program with accelerated delivery schedules. Upgraded the robotic hot gas rework equipment, which greatly reduced support required to operate the equipment.Used X-ray imaging to find cable assembly issues, microwave module troubleshooting, and mechanical assembly issues.Automated coax cable with automated cable cutting and stripping equipment. Resulted in 30% cost reduction of cable assembly.Introduced silicone mold material/process for potting of cables as novel way to reduce cost and improve turn around time on potting fixtures. Also developing use for masking of CCA’s during conformal coating.Coordinated with engineering on quick turn 3D printed tool to cut and form delicate “Z” wires. The wire is a .020”x.005” foil.Mentored 3 new manufacturing engineers while picking up work from retiring coworkers.Traveled to customer sights to repair radios with suspect “E” clips. The trips saved costly return of radios which the customer has a great need for.

Improved manufacturing processes by reducing costs, improving workflow, and transitioning new products into production for a growing diagnostic medical equipment manufacturer. DPC tripled their production floor space during this time. As leader in a small department, this engineer headed layout of production floor, material flow, and many key process improvements.
