Provide network / security architecture and engineering and support for mission-critical applications and subcontracted network management services for wide area network, and local area network environments, including multiple client offices as part of a multi-year IT outsourcing contracts. Work with the Network Service Delivery Manager, this role will be responsible for the maintenance of high-quality network services while supporting the implementation of new systems and infrastructure upgrades in a dynamic environment. Provide hands-on technical support for WAN, LAN, proxy and security devices. Interface with key customer contacts, project managers, other service delivery managers and staff, subcontractors, support personnel, and other stakeholders. Directly execute network services projects, and operations activities. Interface with SAIC program and senior management in support of the achievement of service level, financial and technical objectives.

 Worked with Home Building Group executive team to design new template for network infrastructure for 360+ retail stores. Successfully meeting the needs of the business, below cost, and with significantly better functionality. Stood up Clayton’s first Co-lo datacenter in Ashburn, VA with Digital Realty. Implementing ACI with professional services and designing the L3/L2 piece of it. Designed routing, switching and wireless infrastructure of new Design Center building. Worked with construction, structural architecture, and low voltage personnel to ensure expectations were met. Improved wireless infrastructure throughout organization to allow for easier management and better visibility of issues before and after they arise. Proposed several projects for the 2019 budget to help modernize the organization’s technical footprint.

Knoxville, Tennessee Area

 Configured New York Broadcast Operations Center LAN refresh, built with 2 VSS cores, HSRP, and Out-of-Band management switches. Performed security tasks to include but not limited to access lists, rules, policies, profiles, captures, and out of the box configurations on multi-vendor equipment. Production routing changes for remote offices migrating over to new ISP service over BGP. Installed and setup Palo Alto 5060s from distro switches to core switches for security between network segments. Utilized Netflow and J-flow on all prominent networking devices to have better visibility of ingress and egress traffic to and from the internet and the MPLS. Key engineer of new Broadcast Operations Center network in Knoxville, a complete Nexus 9000 series infrastructure with 80GB backbone up to the distro layer utilizing QSFPs and breakout cables costing 2 million dollars.  Deployed several production switches for Out of Band management, engineering lab, and PXE boot access after building a configuration template meeting all standards for both network and security concerns. Quickly became the Wireless Network subject matter expert, evaluated the current deployment and have begun work on a new deployment design that will offer improved speeds, security and redundancy. Integral part of the planning for site refreshes when discussing any network, security or wireless devices. Placed stateful firewall feature set on new Cogent router at Chelsea in NY, configured it to provide critical security over new internet circuit. Proposed a new deployment of Cisco ISE tailored to meet the needs of the organization based off of past experience that could provide an entirely new meaning to security of the organization’s data and networks F5 Load balancing manager, responsible for all iRules, pools, nodes, and other configuration on multiple Vipirion Chassis.

Chattanooga, Tennessee Area

Management of the Data Center infrastructure, wireless controllers, switches, routers, MPLS, Disaster Recovery, fiber backbone, physical and virtual servers, and network management tools.Network Planning, Implementing, Configuring, Troubleshooting and Testing of networking systems at the Core, Distribution and Access layer.Deployment of new offsite networks, routers, security, core, access switches, and wireless infrastructure.Chosen as the primary Network Engineer to work on projects to include a 5 million dollar complete network upgrade including Core, Distro, Access and Wireless infrastructure throughout the entire Chattanooga plant.Responsible for the planning, implementation, and documentation of the cabling for a completely new enterprise level Cisco Nexus/IOS network.Successfully completed multiple major networking projects, often with little to no planning time ahead of schedule.
