I returned to Xtrac as a graduate design engineer after being offered a job following my completion of the placement year. I work in the gear ratio design department, using my design experience and highly developed CAD skills to create parts and ensure components are designed to a high standard. I have also created new ratio lists showing the available gear ratios for individual race cars which could be used on different tracks. I provided speed charts and gear rating graphs with the ratio list to help teams decide which gear ratio sets would be best to use. I have designed, modelled and created drawings for new manufacture tooling for components such as Formula E final drives

Completed a 12 month industrial placement at Xtrac Transmission Technology as a trainee design engineer working on projects for Formula 1, Formula E, WEC, Indycar, GT racing and high performance hypercars. Fully trained and made competent in the use of Siemens NX 9.0. Gained lots of design experience and understanding of motorsport and automotive technology.
