For companies to remain relevant and find success, they need to be innovative and cost conscious. That means having leaders in place who can get the business first, figure out how to improve margins, and streamline processes to deliver goods faster.Having led global sourcing, procurement savings, product development, marketing, and merchandising for up to 6,000 SKUs at mid- to large-size companies, I am a creative-thinking sourcing and procurement leader with high awareness of costs and how they impact the product so that margins can be achieved.By cultivating strong international business and vendor relationships with suppliers in China, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Korea, Philippines, Europe, and India, I have repeatedly leveraged these relationships into success for my companies. Some notable successes include: * Championing online consumer spending by leading development of Sabert’s first ecommerce site.* Leading a vendor development initiative that positioned Lenox as the first U.S. brand to import flatware from Vietnam.* Delivering $1M in cost savings as the sourcing lead during Lenox’s acquisition of Reed & Barton.* Paving the way for a $3.5M program with QVC by championing a new seasonal product concept for Lenox.* Generating $2.7M in incremental revenue by leading Lenox’s foray into a lucrative category. As someone who grows, teaches, challenges, and encourages people I am focused on mentoring and empowering cross-functional matrix teams while delivering millions in cost savings, reducing risk, ramping up both domestic and international production, and raising the bar in supplier quality.I’m active on LinkedIn and would enjoy connecting with you.

Director Of Sourcing - Consumer DivisionSabert Corporation Apr 2018 - Oct 2020Sayreville, Nj, UsCalled on by the VP of Consumer Division (who was a former Lenox executive), I played a key leadership role in building and developing a new sourcing organization and facilitated the expansion of our product portfolio. By master-planning and orchestrating a sourcing strategy and forging manufacturing relationships, we saw a marked production increase within Sabert’s domestic factories and overseas facilities in China.Spearheading costing, factory selection, packaging, quality control (QC), and shipment for existing SKUs as well as new product development (NPD) for key categories, I sourced >150 new products in 8 months, which reduced our sourcing time by 4 months.Slashing 25% in costs, I moved products to alternative factories and added resources in India to expand capabilities and streamline NPD. And after reengineering an existing product line, my team and I decreased costs by >10%.Not one for wasting time, I fast-tracked our product time to market by introducing an NPD tracking process and improved our margins by co-developing and building a financial model to evaluate make vs. buy decisions.Championing new business introduction and expansion, I built a network of key suppliers and served as the primary contact for Sabert manufacturing facilities in China and Belgium. I also deployed Sabert’s first eCommerce site, Canary & King, which drove notable consumer spending to our catalogs. -
Director Of Sourcing - Dinnerware, Cookware & Small ElectricsLenox 2015 - 2018Bristol, Pa, UsNo easy feat, I replicated my earlier success after assuming the reins of Lenox’s largest category across 8 brands. While purchasing $30M in product and maintaining costing, delivery, and quality of 6,000 SKUs, I steered a cross-cultural team (i.e., 3 sourcing specialists in the US and 15 personnel in China offices) to add >500 new SKUs per year, thereby consistently surpassing development timelines by at least 2 months. We also set the foundation for a $3.5M program with QVC after I conceived and guided my team to introduce a new seasonal product concept. A strong negotiator and trust-based relationship builder, I shifted factories and transitioned key business from Korea to China and Vietnam, which was critical to cutting $1.25M from our costs. -
Director Of Sourcing, Metals & WoodLenox 2001 - 2015Bristol, Pa, UsWith a reputation for getting things done, I was tapped to step into a high-priority, one-year overseas assignment. While overseeing offices in Shanghai and Dongguan, China, for Lenox’s most profitable business, I managed a 15-member team, $700K annual budget, and >5,000 SKUs.Procuring $20M of product for Lenox, Gorham, and Dansk Brands, I delivered 10% cost savings after growing our vendor base to support 20% sales growth in the region, which improved our design capabilities and competitiveness. In addition, I led my team to grow our India business to $3M in purchases by using country-specific business practices; saved $1M in costs during Lenox’s acquisition of Reed & Barton through costing, sourcing, and production strategies; and positioned Lenox as the first U.S. brand to import flatware from Vietnam. -
Product ManagerLenox 1993 - 2001Bristol, Pa, UsI started out revitalizing $40M categories for Lenox and Gorham by improving sales programs, product forecasting, and SKU profitability as well as focusing our efforts on increasing inventory turnover and debuting new consumer programs. Critical to saving on costs was sourcing products from factories in the Czech Republic and Poland.By overhauling the brand’s design and pricing and strengthening sales promotion programs, I turned a -15% declining sales trend into 7% sales growth during the first year. After generating $2.7M in incremental sales, I added a further $3M in sales with an aggressive revitalization strategy. We developed new products and I negotiated licensing with Disney, Colonial Williamsburg, and The Smithsonian Institution. -
Corporate BuyerMay Merchandising Corporation 1986 - 1993Having started out as a corporate buyer with May Merchandising Corp. (now Macy’s Inc.), I learned early on how to create relationships through honesty and up-front information. That’s how I led 18 store buyers and managed a $20M import cookware business, during which time I reversed 2 years of sales stagnation in 3 key categories and achieved up 13% sales growth while developing exclusive corporate programs with 9 major U.S. brands.
