Joe Amicone is Senior Vice President of Program Development at Greenlight Energy Group, LLC, an energy company that helps organizations in both the public and private sector reduce their carbon footprint through the use of renewable energy certificates (RECs). In his role at Greenlight, Joe Amicone is responsible for promoting renewable energy by developing new partnerships with both municipal and corporate organizations. Joe Amicone has been the Vice President of Program Development at the Troy, New York-based company since September of 2012.Prior to joining Greenlight, Joe Amicone served in several government jobs for the state of New York. From 1997 to 1998, he worked in the Division of Legal Affairs for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (D.E.C.). While working for the D.E.C., Joe Amicone was directly involved in administering New York’s Clean Water/Clean Air Bond Act of 1996. After leaving the D.E.C. in April of 1998, Joe Amicone spent two years working as an attorney in the Litigation Bureau for the New York State Attorney General. During this time, Joe Amicone litigated cases before the New York State Supreme Court and the United States District Court. Joe Amicone has also worked for the New York Governor’s Office and the New York State Thruway Authority, where he served as Assistant Counsel.Outside of his professional responsibilities, Joe Amicone is an active in the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick. He also enjoys playing golf and tennis in his free time, along with spending time with his children.
