The President of Coldwater Cattle Company, Joe Batson has amassed a range of business skills throughout his career. Mr. Batson began working on his family ranch while still in his teens, helping out as a cowboy, mechanic, and pilot. After earning his pilot’s license for both fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters, Joe Batson became the youngest person to operate a helicopter solo. A founder and Lifetime Member of Texas Panhandle Heritage Foundation, he has donated his time, skills, and resources to the organization and its theatrical production, TEXAS. Mr. Batson's lifelong interest in the visual arts began at the University of Texas at Austin, where he studied radio, television, and film. Today, he continues this dedication through his commitment to TEXAS. In college, Joe Batson took advantage of the opportunity to assist photographer Bill Rhew on the DeKalb Film Series. In the past, he held the role of Officer at Berneta Communications, Inc., which won 11 Mitch Wilder Awards and took first place in the country for its production and design work for a United Way film. Mr. Batson produced and designed the film A Journey Through Time in honor of his college fraternity, Lambda Chi Alpha. After working with Luci Baines Johnson on a fundraising project for Seton Medical Center Austin in Texas, Joe Batson was inspired to produce the video She Did It Her Way in her honor. The Amarillo Chamber of Commerce recognized Mr. Batson’s lifetime commitment to the performing arts with a Golden Nail Award.Specialties: Ranching, Fundraising
