Promoted to Full Professor in 2020; earned tenure and promotion to Associate Professor in 2015; prior served as Assistant Professor.

The Know Rivalry (KR) Project is the source for rivalry data and analysis that combines academic rigor with industry insights. KR has surveyed thousands of sports fans across several major leagues and intercollegiate conferences as part of an ongoing research collaboration involving professors, students, and alumni from various partner universities. Research findings have been published in several peer-reviewed academic journals and presented at conferences on four continents.

Earned a PhD in Management after completing doctoral seminar coursework and a dissertation examining the impact of commercial sponsorship alliances in Formula One motor racing.

Responsible for the promotion, advertising development, media buy negotiation and placement, game entertainment production, marketing budget, and ticket sales goals for the RedHawks’ 18 varsity sports. Increased football season ticket sales by 72%, and raised ice hockey ticket revenue to its highest point to date.

Service and management of sports sponsorship accounts for clients such as Blue Cross Blue Shield, Avaya Communications, Comerica Bank and the Cleveland Clinic. Also led the General Sports Academy to its first profit.

Responsible for the marketing, promotion, and sponsorship service of men’s and women’s ice hockey, softball, and spring football. Set the NCAA record for attendance at an on-campus varsity ice hockey game. Also managed the re-branding and complete operations of the 1400-member Buckeye Kids Club, including demographic analysis, sponsor reports, and promotion leading to 40% growth.

Managed service of corporate sponsorship accounts for the Detroit Pistons including premium item giveaways, client hospitality, and sponsor events. Also led the Detroit Vipers (hockey) Kids Club.
