Joe took up a position with Wrexham County Borough Council in November 2011 as Destination Manager in the Economic Development Department. Joe is responsible for the delivery of Wrexham County Borough's Destination Management Plan, working in partnership with Visit Wales (Welsh Government) and the local private sector trade. Over the last decade, Joe has successfully worked with a number of partners to develop the tourism sector, which has delivered significant economic growth for the County Borough from £75m in 2011 to circa £140m in 2019. Joe also sits on the North Wales Regional Tourism Board and oversee's all Destination Management and visitor economy marketing activity for Wrexham and North East Wales on behalf of Wrexham CBC.Over recent years, Joe has built upon his core research and communication skills by gaining an M.A. in Contemporary Urban Renaissance and more recently, by completing a 3-year Management & Leadership MBA at Cranfield University in 2012.Prior to taking up his current position, Joe worked as a Principal Social Researcher at Mott MacDonald. He primarily led on the Housing & Neighbourhoods Business Stream, managing over £200k of research expenditure p.a. from former Merseyside Information Services (MIS) Research Contract. Joe also formed an integral part of the national housing & regeneration business, building successful relationships with Housing Associations by chairing the Liverpool City Region Housing Network Group, in addition to securing research contracts with other public sector clients. He also worked alongside colleagues as an official Ambassador during Liverpool's 2008 Capital of Culture year.Between 2005-07, Joe was a Principal Housing Officer at Wirral Council.
