I am a Sports Copy Editor and Wires Editor for Cox Media Group, which serves four large dailies (Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Dayton Daily News, Austin American Statesman, Palm Beach Post) and three small dailies in Ohio (Hamilton, Middletown and Springfield). I'm part of a great team that edits local, regional and national sports copy, graphics and photos. As Wires Editor, I determine what stories will run on the pages shared by all seven publications and recommend the live and advance wire stories for each paper.I held numerous positions at The Palm Beach Post from 1982 through July 2012. In my final two years at The Post, I worked as a copy editor on the sports desk. From 2008 through late 2010, I did several freelance projects for The Post, including building a database of all areas accessable by boat (marinas, ramps, docks, etc.) in the six-county area.. From January 2000 through April 2008 I wrote columns and stories on the people and events of northern Palm Beach County for our Neighborhood Post community news section.I was honored in 2007 by the Marine Industries Association of Palm Beach County for coverage of maritime issues and in 2001, my column on the murder of a 12-year-old girl was named Column of the Year by the Florida Society of Professional Journalists. Throughout my years at The Post I also worked as Sports web producer, and covered high school and college sports.
