I was hired as a staff engineer, performing soil classifications, lab testing oversight, and writing Geotechnical reports for the cellular tower industry. I assisted with the management and coordination of projects between clients and Geotechnical drill firms. After 3 months I added Geotechnical report peer reviews as well. In August 2011, I was promoted to Department Manager. My duties continued to be the same, with the addition of client interaction, project management and coordination. At that time I was in charge of a department of 7 employees (2 PE's and 1 EI). Over the course of the following 8 months I wrote reports, reviewed peers' reports, improved client relations, and department efficiency, while maintaining technical merit. In April 2012, I was promoted to Director, where my role has focused more on Geotechnical report review, project coordination, and technical oversight, in addition to marketing and client relations. The department has grown to 10 employees (3 PE's and 3 EI's) and department production has increased to close to 2000 Geotechnical reports generated for the year. In conjunction with the other PE's in my department, I focus on production while making sure that the technical quality of our reports is precise and accurate.
