I work strategically with Schiffer’s highly experienced team of publishing professionals to produce books that reveal and drive industry trends to influence a captive audience. I attend trade and industry conferences as required, including the Architecture Conference of the American Institute of Architects, and maintain and develop strong links with the world’s leading and emerging architects, designers, and the best writers and communications professionals working in those fields. Schiffer is a long-established family-owned company based in Pennsylvania, USA, with possibly the best international distribution I have experienced in my 30-year communications career.

Joe Boschetti is an independent publishing consultant with an influential career of editing, publishing and marketing highly visual books for the global market. He has worked in independent publishing and marketing for more than 25 years, with particular strengths in publishing and book production, marketing and distribution, holding senior positions in publishing houses such as publisher, vice-president of research and development, and marketing manager, as well editor and copyeditor. Specific industry sectors include architecture and interior design, graphic design, art, photography, food and cooking, motoring, and community and mission publishing, mainly in books, but also in community magazine publishing. He has worked in global independent publishing houses, including time as director of the media branch of a non-government organisation. He has regularly attended major book fairs and trade shows such as the Frankfurt Book Fair, the American Institute of Architects national conventions, the World Architecture Festival, and the Religious Book Trade Expo. In 2020, he established Boschetti Books as the natural progression of a passionate career in publishing, to fulfil a need for author agency, advocacy and consultancy, preparing authors and firms for publication, as well as services to publishers such as marketing and promotions, managing distribution services.

I was Publisher at The Images Publishing Group from July 2018 until April 2020, and concurrently Vice President of Research and Development from September 2015 until April 2020. IMAGES was then a world-leading publisher of books about architecture and design, publishing upwards of 30 casebound volumes a year. I would work with the world's leading and emerging architecture and design talent to provide opportunities to publish and promote their work. Now, Images Publishing, together with its distribution arm ACC Art Books, is entirely owned by GuangXi Normal University Press of China.As publisher, I would push authors, designers and editors to work at the highest standards to meet the expectations of the company’s many high-profile authors, featured architects and graphic artists, all the time reporting to the CEO and key stakeholders. I would approach architects and designers to partner with Images to publish highly visual monographs on their work. This would require researching and assessing firms to understand their design strengths to fit with the company publishing strategy; approaching firms and architects around the world, often cold calling them to commence a conversation about publishing their book, contracting them to publish, attendance at their studios to meet, encourage them to take up the Images offer, give them confidence to participate in the editorial process. I would attend publishing and industry conventions such as the Frankfurt book fair, the American Institute of Architecture conference on Architecture, the World Architecture Festival, and use these platforms to connect with architects, designers and authors with a view to collaborating towards publication. I would utilise my network of the who's who in these fields and maintain regular contact to work strategically with not only the architects and designers, but also with the authors, writers, distributors, editors, booksellers, publicists and PR gurus in the world's design hotspots.

I was director of Majellan Publications from August 2012 until August 2015. Majellan Publications is the Australian operation of a global mission-driven organisation which will shortly celebrate 300 years since its foundation. As director, I oversaw the transition of the publishing house to lay leadership, embarked on a successful rebranding of all products and drove the redesign of all products to engage more fully with their intended audience using traditional print platforms, as well as social media and the development of the organisation's online potential. I was also presented with good opportunities to meet the right people to work towards a greater collaboration with its affiliated publishing houses in the US, the UK, Ireland, Brazil, Slovakia, South Africa, India, Poland, the Philippines, Kenya and Nigeria, as well as other countries. In 2014 at the Awards for Excellence of the Australasian Catholic Press Association held at the National Press Club in Canberra, The Majellan was named the most improved publication in Catholic Australia and New Zealand. To complement this award, at the 2015 Awards for Excellence of the Australasian Catholic Press Association, The Majellan was highly commended in the Best Print Magazine category. I co-chaired the International Symposium of Redemptorist Publishing Houses at Hawkstone Hall in the UK in April 2015, a strong symbol of Majellan's commitment to connecting with other publishing publishing houses, reshaping its vision and aligning itself more fully with the mission of the global organisation.

I joined John Garratt Publishing in May 2010 as marketing and publicity manager. I attended the RBTE in Chicago, and was able to meet many people who hold similar positions at US and UK publishers within the same genre.

IMAGES was an Australian-owned publishing house that specialised in publishing books about architecture and design. I worked with IMAGES as an editor from 2000 until 2006 and then commenced in a marketing and publicity role with them. At IMAGES I was exposed to international editing styles and global publicity and marketing. It was a dynamic role that gave me terrific contacts in the world's hotspots of architecture and design, both the architects and designers themselves, as well as the marketing gurus in those specialist fields. Now, Images Publishing, together with its distribution arm ACC Art Books, is entirely owned by GuangXi Normal University Press in China.
