My placement was with Netwatch, industry leaders in the field of remote visual monitoring securityMy time with Netwatch was split between their Irish headquarters in Carlow and the US office in Boston. The programme also included a part-time Graduate Diploma in International Growth from the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School.I worked across several areas of the business, gaining experience in the marketing, sales and finance departments. The majority of my work involved business development and sales, with a strong focus on the foreign markets in which the company is active- Marketing (August - November 2012): Responsible for the various websites (Joomla & WordPress), blog content, creating and maintaining the editorial calendar, PPC campaigns (AdWords & LinkedIn Advertising), social media, Inbound Marketing, lead generation and marketing automation (HubSpot).- Sales (November 2012 - January 2014): Worked on building out the company's new Sales Academy (Business Development Programme). Developing new methods of lead generation and opportunity creation, moving away from traditional "cold calling". Trained all new hires on these methods, and continuously developed additional strategies. Subsequently rolled this out in the UK & US markets.- Finance (August 2013): Worked in Accounts Receivable during a particularly busy period.
