In 2013, Georgia Gulf merged with the chemicals businesses of PPG Corporation to form Axiall Corporation.Executive Vice President, ChemicalsResponsible for all chemicals business activities (sales, marketing, technical service, manufacturing, R&D and engineering), with sales of approximately $4B for two reportable segments:CHLOROVINYLS: this segment included chlor-alkali and derivative products [chlorine, caustic soda, vinyl chloride monomer, vinyl resins (PVC), ethylene dichloride, chlorinated solvents, calcium hypochlorite, hydrochloric acid and vinyl compounds, additives and plasticizers].AROMATICS: this segment included cumene, phenol and acetone products.•Introduced Lean manufacturing philosophy as part of a $100M cost reduction and reliability improvement program.•One of three team members that negotiated the $2.1B Georgia Gulf/PPG merger through a Reverse Morris Trust structure.•Led post-merger integration and exceeded synergy capture target of $100M.•Oversaw the $40M SAP implementation budget into the newly formed company.•Drove formation of JV in India toward initial international expansion efforts.•Participated in multiple M&A deals that ranged from $5M to $2.1B. Responsible for manufacturing operations of 11 regional business units (approximately $13B in sales), all multi-business manufacturing sites, corporate engineering, new market/customer development and the customer care function. As a member of the North American Executive Committee and the BASF Group global executive management team, met with the Executive Board of Directors on a monthly basis to steer global business activities.• Member of the executive team that grew company from $10B to $19B.• Determined the corporate strategy for North America.• Introduced Lean manufacturing into global company.• Developed a Commercial Effectiveness program to provide value selling and pricing techniques to sales and product manager teams.• Oversight of three multimillion-dollar global SAP implementations - both initial internal conversion and through integration of newly acquired businesses. Full P&L responsibility for a $1.2B emulsion polymers, paper chemicals and acrylic monomers business. Led North American sales, marketing, technical service, manufacturing, logistics and R&D. Served on Global Executive Committee.

Led a global strategic development group to harmonize technical product and process strategies worldwide. Responsible for developing a global capital plan for all manufacturing operations. Developed and managed the research and development plan/budget for all technical process development projects.

Reported directly to the global operating division President and was responsible for developing the global marketing strategy for all nylon fiber products; carpet fibers, textile and industrial. Wrote initial marketing strategy for new nylon fiber plant built in Shanghai, China.

Manufacturing Director Dispersions Regional Business Unit, Monaca, PA 1994-1998Responsible for manufacturing operations of the RBU. Directed four stand-alone emulsion polymers and paper chemicals manufacturing sites.Site Manager, Chattanooga, TN 1992-1994Responsible for all Chattanooga site operations, which were comprised of three separate manufacturing facilities producing emulsion polymers and specialty chemicals. Two of the three plants were unionized.Various positions of increasing responsibility at the BASF, Monaca, PA site as Operations Manager from 1991 to 1992, Project Engineer from 1989 to 1991, Process Engineer from 1988 to 1989, Process Engineer, Polysar Latex from 1986 to 1988.
