I am a recent MS Economics graduate passionate about bettering the community by creating, innovating, and revealing insights that support and validate relevant data-driven change.After spending 8 years in the classroom, I discovered a love for reviewing student data, forecasting trends, and developing tailored lesson plans that catered to individual learning needs and promoted achievement. In the fall of 2020, I decided to take a leap and pursue my master’s degree in economics at Purdue University to transition my career into the exciting and challenging field of data.I gained hands-on experience in my graduate program using various programming languages and tools to build data models, hone analytic skills, and deliver visualizations. I also leveraged real-world data to solve specific business issues. Below are some my accomplishments:-- GCP Batch Pipeline: Terraform IaC and Mage orchestration delivered real estate listings data to GCS data lake and BigQuery data warehouse; designed a Tableau dashboard that revealed key metrics such as a property’s value compared to similar properties.-- Streaming Pipeline: Engineered an architecture that records row-level changes to Kafka from Postgres; Spark processed and batched the data daily to S3 data lake.-- dbt Denormalized Table: Assembled a denormalized view of a table in a data warehouse with dbt to transform raw orders data; medallion architecture expanded access to analytics-- Successfully completed 2 separate graduate certifications in Business & Economics Data Analytics and Financial EconomicsOutside of my graduate program and work experience, I earned the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner and Meta Database Engineer certificates in 2023, along with a Data Scientist Professional certification in 2022.When I’m not researching, I'm a dog dad to Tamale and Cannoli, mini-dachshunds, and a cat dad to Weasley, an orange tabby.
