From the early 1990’s I’ve been intrigued and attracted by the power of interactions. My first venture was a start up in Madrid to create a loyalty scheme (and promotional videos) for sets of non-competing businesses whose clients nevertheless shared similar interests. Although that didn’t take off, it showed me that I had a knack of spotting where valuable interactions were being missed or simply ignored.Since then I’ve been to hundreds of venues and hotels all around the world installing interactive systems to give audiences a voice and make their opinions heard. I’ve designed and created software, shared ideas and been a champion of inclusive technology - where everyone has the same opportunities to participate.Over the last few years, I’ve also seen a gradual realisation that interactions can create valuable insights. This is of course the backbone of companies such as Google, Facebook and Amazon who use interactions to generate revenue, but often just to sell more 'stuff', not to improve experiences.Unfortunately (or fortunately) I don’t want to become like them, because I strongly believe that interactions should primarily benefit the user, the attendee, the guest.
