• Responsible for delivering excellent customer service to over 4000 stores. Managing operational performance of in-house transport across 12 multi temp and 6 grocery DC’s. Establishing robust governance, KPI’s and CI.
• Delivered £6.3m of financial benefits in the 3PL operation through structured KPIs operational efficiencies and change programs.
• Standardised the agency labour operating model across the UK operation.
• Re-engineered distribution cost model for new store opening process.

UK, Eastern Europe And Asia

• A role, established to review the efficiency of the distribution operations across Tesco group ( 12 countries). To ensure environmental plans were aligned to tangible operational cost benefits.To develop and oversee.
• Publication of strategic Carbon Reduction Plan. “F Plan”, Plan endorsed by UK board.
• Clear KPIs, operational plans and efficiency targets established for each country.
• Operational review undertaken of the outsourced distribution operation in Thailand.
• Delivered 2012 UK carbon reduction target, reducing CO2 emissions by 142,000 tonnes, Taking 111 million road miles out of the UK network and saving 53 million litres of Diesel. Circa £56m

• A new position, introduced to transform the structure, focus and management of H&S across the UK Distribution Division covering 13 multi temp DC’s, 7 Grocery DC’s and 4 national DC’s. Establishing clear H&S protocol.

Anglia

• Lead Transport operations at three regional distribution centres and one vehicle operating centre 5 direct reports and 650 indirect reports, 280 tractors and 540 trailers. Lead Airport mail operations at Stansted.
• Successful deployment of the largest road and air network change programme within the UK distribution industry. Maintained quality of service and avoided industrial action.
• Successful integration of LGV vehicles into specialist Vehicle Operating Centres.
• Reduction in the use of external agency drivers from over 30% of gross hours in 2001/02, to fewer than 10%.
• Vehicle running to time performance improved from 92% arrival within ten minutes in 2001/02 to over 96% in 2004/05.
• Area accidents on duty reduced from 103 in 2001/02 to 56 in 2004/05.
