Joe serves as Professor of Business, research chair, and Executive Director of Innovation Projects at Indiana Wesleyan University. Previously, he was the Dean of the College of Business and Legal Studies and Chair of the Business and Leadership Department at Southeastern University in Lakeland, FL.He maintains a consulting practice and has worked on accounts for major corporations based in Silicon Valley as well as coaching entrepreneurs and leaders from a variety of industries. From 1990 to 1993 he worked with NGOs and governments as a consultant in the former Soviet Union, Romania, Hungary, and Poland as they transitioned to market economies. His research interests include the impact of sleep deprivation on human productivity and learning effectiveness in higher education.Dr. Childs is also a Certified Integrative NLP Coach through the Association of Integrative Psychology.He has served on the executive board of directors for the Lakeland Area Chamber of Commerce, is a Past-President of Citrus Center Kiwanis, and board member of Ignite Lakeland. He was a mentor at Catapult Lakeland, a shared workspace for entrepreneurs. Dr. Childs served on the Lakeland City Utility Committee and the Florida 10th Circuit Unlicensed Practice of Law Committee.
